Polish Fourth Wave Feminist Organizations and Their Online Activities

Feminism as a social, activist and philosophical phenomenon has always stirred strong emotions. In the literature on the subject, it is often analyzed chronologically through the division into successive “waves”. The article discusses the first, second and third waves of feminism, with particular emphasis on the currently developing fourth wave. The latest form of this emancipatory women’s movement is analyzed in the context of the activities of Polish pro-women organizations and foundations. An important element of the contemporary feminist movement in Poland is the role of the internet and social media, which is also discussed in the article. The aim of the study was to identify the key ideas, missions and activities of contemporary fourth-wave feminism in Poland, with particular emphasis on the role of the internet and social media, based on selected organizations.
