Author Biographies

Bogusława Dobek-Ostrowska, University of Wrocław

Bogusława Dobek-Ostrowska is a professor of political science at the University of Wroclaw, Poland and chair of the Department of Communication and Journalism. She is a cofounder and past president (2007–2013) of the Polish Communication Association. She is a founder and editor of the Central European Journal of Communication. She is an editor of the series Studies in Communication and Politics (Peter Lang Edition) and Politics and Communication of the University of Wroclaw Press. She has published several books and articles. She is interested in political communication and media systems.

Michał Głowacki, University of Warsaw

Michał Głowacki, PhD, is an associate professor at the University of Warsaw, Poland. He has been involved in several large European research projects including ‘Media Accountability and Transparency in Europe’ and ‘Journalism in Change: Professional Journalistic Cultures in Russia, Poland, and Sweden’. Michał has been awarded scholarships by the Danish Agency for Science, Technology, and Innovation, the Swedish Institute, the Research Council of Norway, and the Polish-American Fulbright Commission. His research interests are media policy, public service media, accountability, and innovation culture.
